Problem with connectivity provider in Dublin

Monday, January 12th, 2009

14:12 We are receiving another inbound DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack currently on-going. It appears to be quite similar to Friday’s attack, however not nearly as large. However, it is still affecting network speed and latency, which means some sites may load slower than normal or time out.

14:22 The problem is now resolved. The attackers are completely blacklisted and the network is back to normal. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Problem with connectivity provider in Dublin

Thursday, January 8th, 2009

13:11 We are aware of connectivity issues across our Dublin network. Our technicians are investigating.

Update:
There is a large inbound DDOS (Denial of Service) attack currently on-going. The target is another part of the network at our datacentre (not Spiral Hosting infrastructure).

Our technicians are in the process of blacklisting the offending traffic with our upstream provider.

13:40 Most websites are now working again. However, the attack is continuing. We are still blacklisting more traffic from our network.

13:55 There is high latency across our network. All websites should be working, although websites may be slow to load or sometimes timeout.

Note: A more detailed email was sent to customers regarding this downtime. If for any reason you have not received it, please contact customer support.
