Problem with connectivity in Dublin Clonslaugh datacenter

Wednesday, July 6th, 2011

06 July 2011
18:01
We are aware of a connectivity problem in our Dublin Clonslaugh datacenter that is currently affecting customers on our shared hosting servers. We are awaiting more information from datacenter engineers.

18:04 A large spike in network traffic caused latency across our Dublin servers and resulted in 10-15% packet loss which was picked up by our network monitoring. This was causing some sites toload slower than normal or time out. The problem should be resolved within a few minutes.

18:10 We believe this problem is now resolved.

Problem with connectivity provider in Dublin Clonslaugh datacenter

03 July 2011
20:35
We are aware of a connectivity problem in our Dublin Clonslaugh datacenter that is currently affecting customers on our shared hosting servers. We are awaiting more information from datacenter engineers.

20:42 Our datacenter has informed us that they are currently receiving an inbound DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack which can affect network speed and latency, which means some sites may load slower than normal or time out. Our datacenter technicians are working to mitigate this attack.

21:35 This attack is on-going. Our technicians are working to block all the offending traffic from our network however this is difficult because the source of the attack is constantly changing.

23:40 This attack is still on-going however we believe we have blocked the vast majority of the offending traffic. We are continuing to monitor all traffic across our network. Connection speed and latency has returned to near-normal levels. There is still some intermittent packet loss however websites should be back online and working. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this attack has caused. If your website is unreachable please contact our technical support and they will investigate it for you.

00:10pm We believe this problem is now resolved.
